How to make your Desktop Icons Transparent

Go to ontrol Panel > System, > Advanced > Performance area > Settings button Visual Effects tab "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"

Set the Search Screen to the Classic Look

When I first saw the default search pane in Windows XP, my instinct was to return it to its classic look; that puppy had to go. Of course, I later discovered that a doggie door is built into the applet. Click "Change preferences" then "Without an animated screen character." If you'd rather give it a bare-bones "Windows 2000" look and feel, fire up your Registry editor and navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ CabinetState.

You may need to create a new string value labeled "Use Search Asst" and set it to "no".

How To change drive letters

To change drive letters (useful if you have two drives and have partitioned the boot drive, but the secondary drive shows up as "D")

Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management, Disk Management, then right-click the partition whose name you want to change (click in the white area just below the word "Volume") and select "change drive letter and paths."
From here you can add, remove or change drive letters and paths to the partition.

Automatically run programs when starting Windows

If there are applications or commands that you run every single time you start your computer (Email comes to mind) you may want to consider setting things up so that these programs run automatically during the Windows XP startup. This can be done quite easily in XP by creating shortcuts and shuffling them around.

Here's how: Windows XP has a startup folder located at 'C:\ Documents and Settings\ (your user name)\ Start Menu\ Programs\Startup.' Shortcuts placed into this folder will be run automatically when Windows XP starts up.

If you already have shortcuts for the programs you desire to use, copy and paste them into the startup folder. Otherwise, go to 'start\programs,' select the program you would like to create a shortcut for, right click it and select 'send to' then 'desktop.' This will create a shortcut on the desktop that you can then use.

AUTO DELETE TEMPORARY FOLDER.!!

First go to start --> run --> type "gpedit.msc"  (without quotes..)
Next select -> Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Terminal Services/Temporary Folder
Then right click "Do Not Delete Temp Folder Upon Exit"
Go to properties and hit disable. Now next time Windows puts a temp file in that folder it will automatically delete it when its done! Note from Forum Admin: Remember, GPEDIT (Group Policy Editor) is only available in XP Pro.

Hidden Files

Open the registry editor (Click on Start then run and type regedit press enter )..Now you will see a new window on the left pane Navigate to the following path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden

Under this key, you’ll see 2 more keys “NOHIDDEN” and “SHOWALL“. Make sure that the values of “CheckedValue” and “DefaultValue” in right-side pane are “2” and “2” for “NOHIDDEN” and “1” and “2” for “SHOWALL” respectively. If it has some other value change it..Now check whether you are able to hide or unhide..

If this doesnt work try this..Navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In right-side pane, change value of "Hidden" to:

1 - To show hidden files
2 - To not show hidden files

Hello Friends,
It’s a calculator with a safe which is capable of storing and keeping your files and folders safe. The safe calculator looks just like the default calculator in Windows and in fact it can even perform calculations just like any other calculator. When you start Safe Calculator it will look just like the below pic.

The default code/ pin for the safe is ‘123’. So, to unlock you need to type ‘123’ in the calculator and press on ‘MS’, now the calculator will enter into safe mode. Here you can change the default pin if you want by clicking on ‘New pin’.

Now click on ‘+’ and then ‘=’ to confirm and enter into the safe to browse and choose the files you want to hide. click on ‘Store’ once you’re done.

Access The PC Without Changing The Password (WINDOWS ONLY)

Hello Friends,
Another method to login to a password protected Windows even if you do not have the password is by making Windows accepting any passwords. There is a far better way to get into Windows XP. It is easy and it does not reset the password. Hack into a computer running Windows XP without changing the password and find out all and any passwords on the machine (including admin accounts). You do not need access to any accounts to do this. Of course, do not do this on anyone elses computer without proper authorisation.
Bypass Windows Login screen
Steps to Hack into a Windows XP Computer without changing password:…..
Windows Vista Wallpaper pack

1. Get physical access to the machine. Remember that it must have a CD or DVD drive.
2. Download DreamPackPL HERE.
3. Unzip the downloaded dreampackpl_iso.zip and you’ll get dreampackpl.ISO.
4. Use any burning program that can burn ISO images.
5. After you have the disk, boot from the CD or DVD drive. You will see Windows 2000 Setup and it will load some files.
6. Press “R” to install DreamPackPL.
7. Press “C” to install DreamPackPL by using the recovery console.
8. Select the Windows installation that is currently on the computer (Normally is “1″ if you only have one Windows installed)
9. Backup your original sfcfiles.dll by typing:”ren C:\Windows\System32\sfcfiles.
dll sfcfiles.lld” (without quotes)
10. Copy the hacked file from CD to system32 folder. Type:”copy D:\i386\pinball.ex_ C:\Windows\System32\sfcfiles.dll” (without quotes and assuming your CD drive is D:)
11. Type “exit”, take out disk and reboot.
12. In the password field, type “dreamon” (without quotes) and DreamPack menu will appear.
13. Click the top graphic on the DreamPack menu and you will get a menu popup.Hack Windows Login Dreamon
14. Go to commands and enable the options and enable the god command.Bypass and hack user account passwords
15. Type “god” in the password field to get in Windows. You can also go to Passwords and select “Logon with wrong password and hash”. This option allows you to login with ANY password. Note: I was unable to bring up the DreamPackPL for the first time because I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus already running in background. I believe most antivirus already labelled this tool as a Hack-Tool. A Hack-Tool is NOT a virus. DreamPackPL helps you bypass the Windows Login screen and it is not destructive.

Make Windows XP Boot-Up Faster With A Quick Registry Hack

Hello Friends,
Let’s get straight to the point. This Windows XP registry tweak will make your system boot much faster. How much?
I can not say exactly how much faster, since it all depends on your computer specifications (processor, RAM, hard-drive and stuff like that…), but from my experience, this tweak decreased the time to boot-up for about 9-10 seconds.
Now you see how great this registry tweak is and it will get even better when you see how simple it is to apply. I will do my best to show you step-by-step and make it plain simple and of course with screenshots included.

How to make Windows XP start faster:

1. Click on “Start” on the taskbar.
2. Click “Run” located in the start menu.

3. Then in the “Run” panel, type: “regedit” without the quotation marks. (that will open up the Windows registry editor)
4. Then click on “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and expand it.
5. Then click on “SYSTEM” and expand it.
6. Then scroll down, and expand “CurrentControlSet”.
7. Under that, expand “Control”.
8. Then, under that one, locate and click on “ContentIndex”. (so when you click on it, it needs to be highlighted and it’s options need to show up in the right panel of Windows XP Registry Editor)
So to sum up, here’s where you need to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ ContentIndex
Let’s continue… You have just 6 more steps until the finish line!
9. When you have clicked on “ContentIndex” and it is highlighted and you see the options and parameters on the right side of the panel… Among those, you need to scroll all the way to the bottom and find the Registry key named “StartupDelay”.
10. Double-click on it and a new window panel will pop-up.
11. The new window has a field to enter value (and a default value entered already). But before you change the value, you need to change the base from Hexadecimal to Decimal. Take a look at the screenshot below to see what I am talking about:
Now when you change it to Decimal, it displays a different value (480000 instead of 75300).
12. So now, all you need to do is change the value from “480000” to “40000” (forty thousand)
Many people ask me if they can change it to an even smaller value than 40000, but I would not recommend doing that. I tested it and it doesn’t work. I did not feel any difference in boot-up time when I change it to value less than 40000 (and no, you can’t put 0 either).
13. After you’ve completed all the steps above, click “OK” and close the Registry Editor.
And one just one little thing you need to do to finish all this registry tweaking…
14. Restart your computer.
Now you can notice big difference in time that your system takes to boot-up. Mine was faster for 10 seconds than usual.
